de and het both mean "the" — memorise which each noun uses.
Pronunciation

Dutch people have a concept called gezelligheid (khuh-ZEL-ikh-hite) — a feeling of cosiness and togetherness. Expect direct, friendly communication — the Dutch value honesty and warmth!
